Another brutalist powerhouse that was on my Rollei list for a long time. Brutalism hunting in cities is different from the roadtrips. There’s no driving around a forest or up a mountain looking hopelessly for the abandoned monument. But the moment of elation when you finally reach your destination is the same, especially in this case, where you emerge from the Cartagena metro station and immediately behold the magnificence of the mighty Torres Blancas. Designed by Francisco Javier Sáenz de Oíza, built built between 1964 and 1972.
