Lingotto Car Park, Turin, Italy

Another genre of brutalism that can be unexpectedly photogenic is car parks. This one in Turin is absolutely beautiful. You know you’re doing ok when Le Corbusier calls your carpark “one of the most impressive sights in industry.” This one was designed by engineer Giacomo Matté-Trucco in the 1920s as a five-storey vertical assembly line for Fiats. Raw materials entered at ground level and completed vehicles emerged at the rooftop.
